Schienen-Kettenfahrzeug 1 auf Fahrgestell Pz.Kpf.W. III Ausf. L oder N
In the and of 1942/beginning of 1943 two to three prototypes of the SK1 were constructed by the Saurerwerke of Vienna. They used at least one Panzer III E and one Panzer III L or N. The suspension was modified to make room for a retractable railway bogie. Due to this the tank was able to operate on land as on railways. On the latter they reached up to 100 km/h. They were to be used as anti-partisan tank. This vehicle was officially tested on 20th October of 1943. But there were no further series production.
